On May 14, 2023 in Hanoi, Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (HANOISME) organized the 6th Congress of Delegates for the term 2023 – 2028 and the 28th Anniversary of its establishment. Attending the Congress were Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen, representatives of a number of Hanoi city departments and agencies and 200 delegates representing more than 10,000 members.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Vice President and General Secretary of the V Association, Mac Quoc Anh, said that up to now, there are about 360,000 businesses in Hanoi, an average of 37 people capital/enterprises, 3.8 times higher than the national average. The number of SMEs accounts for over 97.2% of businesses in the area, has constantly developed and innovated, contributing more than 45% of GDP to the city, creating jobs for more than 50% of workers.

With the goal of linking to create strength, through 28 years of formation and development, HANOISME has affirmed to be a bridge for economic cooperation between businesses, helping to promote business and competitiveness in the intergrated economy and development in the past term. During the 2018 – 2023 term, along with the growth in organization, HANOISME’s operations are increasingly quality, effectively supporting production and business activities, trade promotion, investment, and international cooperation; At the same time, orient and support small and medium-sized enterprises to adapt and access new trends of the era in digital transformation and green growth. In addition to professional activities, the Association and the small and medium-sized business community have participated in many union activities, social and charity work and organized sports tournaments to increase understanding, exchange and sharing between businesses, creating a healthy enviroment for officials and employees of member businesses.

Directions and operational tasks of the Association in the 2023-2028 term with the goal of gathering, uniting, strengthening connections, promoting trade, and increasing the strength of the small and medium-sized business community in the City. At the same time, it is a bridge for economic cooperation between member enterprises of all economic sectors with the aim of improving business capacity and competitiveness of enterprises in an integrated, develop economy and build an increasingly stronger Association, contributing to the overall development of the Capital and the country.

At the 5th HANOISME Congress, the Association’s Executive Committee, term VI, term 2023 – 2028, also officially elected, includes 105 comrades. Comrade Do Quang Hien continued to be elected as President of the Association, and 18 comrades were elected as Vice Presidents.

Also within the framework of the Congress, the 28th Anniversary of the establishment of the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises took place; Announcement Ceremony of Commendation and Award Decisions for collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in work activities and emulation movements of the Association for the term 2018 – 2023.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen acknowledged and appreciated HANOISME’s contribution in supporting the city’s business development over the past time. At the same time, it affirms the important mission of being the “extended arm” of the city government. The Association is truly a bridge connecting member businesses, a focal point to reflect difficulties, recommendations, and suggestions and directly implement business support activities.
